Someday
by Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson
Stop. I know what you're thinking-- "You're posting two tracks from the same album a few days apart?! How can this be?!"
What do I say to that? I say: "Be quiet Mileini, possibly the only person who ever glimpses at this!"
The album's been stuck in my head since I got it. Give me a break; it's not my fault it's awesome.
It's a good track so give it a chance! And while you're at it, take a gander at my opinions blog and revel at the possible insensitivity of today's holiday greeting.

SONGS OF THE DAY #11
Saturday, May 29th, 2010
Today I turned 19.
This blog is slowly and unintentially morphing into a way to express my feelings on a given day instead of just a showcase for good music. Turn to May 29th and listen to what was going through my mind, in the words of Billy Joel or the Zutons, or in this case, both.
Given that I felt two distinct ways today-- a morning high and a slow neurosis later at night brought on by my sister's antics and the haunting phrase "Shit, I'm 19," I decided a birthday was as good a time as ever to change up the structure for a day, picking two-- that's right, TWO-- songs in celebration of everyone's one anachronic day of the year: the day they were born.
With that, enjoy my unique personification of today, my 19th birthday, as I discovered only Amy Winehose and Billy Joel can come together to describe.

I'm trying to find a song to sum up everything that went down today. I finished watching Season 2 of Weeds, technically this morning.. and I'm now almost done with Season 3, which is sad. Why I'm doing this I don't know. Chuck ended its third season today, so I thought I'd throw some hints in that direction, too.
Anyway, I decided I have no idea how to sum up today with one song, so I'll just put one out there that I think is great on its own. Here it is.
Jam to it.

Today I realized that this project is more than what I thought it would be. I figured it would be a way for me to keep busy and stay remotely organized, reminding myself that structure still exists despite the season we're in. I realized, however, that people need my help. So this has turned into the answer humanity doesn't know they were hoping for. Even if it doesn't reach that magnitude, it'll get by helping in particular a friend of mine who is in need of a musical education (¡ni siquiera sabe quien es Beny Moré!). So without further delay, this one's for you, Naty.

I honestly don't know why I'm doing this.
This one's for two days ago, when the fateful project began...

If I Ever Leave This World Alive
by Flogging Molly
I didn't find out this was from a movie until someone heard it and said, "Isn't this the song from P.S. I Love You?" -__- And I was like, I have no idea. But it's a good song, and it's my first song of the day. Goal-setting win.
