Cello Song
by The Books Feat. Jose Gonzalez
Let the music inspire you.
I can't believe I've been this dedicated. This gives me some hope for the school year.. If I can do this for five minutes every day, who says I can't do something academic for a few minutes each day? And so, it begins: the power of music leading to success.

Giving Up The Gun
by Vampire Weekend
I woke up thinking of this song and it works for today: it was my first day in Bailly and Davies' class, and in History of Film. Looking back, even though I listened to Bon Iver the entire day (like most days recently), biked around aimlessly and found a secret spot on campus, today's tone I think is set by Vampire Weekend. It was a day of firsts, and it called for something a little more up-tempo.

Round and Round
by Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti
I hate and love the alternative genre. It's a giant melting pot of different so-called "unclassifiable" sounds, except I'm realizing they absolutely are classifiable. We're just too lazy to go through the several dozen possibilities, meticulously (and often overlappingly) labeling each track. I get it, people, and the traces of America that have seeped into my personality over the years are right there with you.
Alternative ftw, but folk, baroque pop, lo-fi, and art rock remain genres on the inside.
