TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY-THREE

SONG OF THE DAY #273

Foot Shooter
by Frightened Rabbit

Woke up humming this, oddly-- and it became an anthem, almost.
Disastrous assembly meeting today, reassuring the creepy ominous feeling I've been getting from that class... It creeps me out. Walked to UTS with Mileini, got in the death trap and drove to my car, and went home. Drove the '66 around the block and then got in Arch and returned Kurosawa to Adrian, along with much needed soy sauce packets. Four of them. Lol, left Espinosa's and stopped by Aida's to say hi to the peeps, then got home to finish watching Studio 60. Finished at 12:12. Five stars. Five. And Foot Shooter is still stuck in my head. Good night, Moon.

The Twist
by Frightened Rabbit

I started to look for a replacement for the day of the FR concert in Gainesville to avoid repeating music, but I left it alone. The music served me for a purpose back then, which is why I picked it. Now I see it in a completely different light, and The Twist means a completely different thing to me today. This is how I justify today's double addition. It's the same song taken from a completely different angle.

Got home after a different night at 4AM. Got up at 12:30, took a shower, and sat at the computer for fixins. Most often I think as much as I reflected today. Watched some trivialities on television and then got out of the house. I went to Lincoln Road to check out some glasses, then came back to Publix for some groceries for the cooking teacher. Note to self: the fact that pineapple soda is delicious does not guarantee that the same will apply with coconut soda. In fact, it doesn't. I thought some more, and then FR lyrics popped into my head. The Twist is today's song because of its poetry and its power to seal today with red wax. FR, you guys are real. Thanks for that.

The Loneliness
by Frightened Rabbit

Got up at 12 and went to work an hour later. Happy MLK. Got to working on the pptx and on Vivian's checklists, and helped Sarah with some reservations. Listened to FR! all day with meaning for the first time in a while. The songs all make sense. Stayed until 8, then came home and washed the disappointing premiere of Chuck. I tell you, the last good episode was the one on the train with Vampire Weekend. The show ended on that train for me. The actors and writers just play around now, seeing how far they can stretch the limits. Let me tell you something, Chuck writers. It's not working.

Wenderz at the beach pizza and explorin', then attempted ice skating. Timing failed, went to coco walk with Wendy T, Evy and Grace. Drank Starbucks and watched The King's Speech, followed by explorin' about an abandoned FIU-- off-road action ensues.

CONCERT IN GAINESVILLE! Late a day on updating SOTD because of the fact... oh well. It was a great effin' time. Earlier, Jen took us on a mini-tour and to the Harn museum, where we contemplated. Saw a Monet. Brilliant time. "WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN???" PRRGHFF!

Man/Bag of Sand
by Frightened Rabbit

Day of HW again.. Ended Athens with a play on the Assembly, got Arch all fixed up for the trip tomorrow, and finally finished scene analysis. Watched Blood Simple in film today, realized again how great Frances McDormand is. I'm now starting to pack for the big trip over, going down in just a few hours... YEYUH! Wish us luck!

Fall for Music 2010

Happiness ensues.

I'm starting a new series inspired by the new cool breezes coming out of nowhere.
The air's getting crisp, and these days need some good music to carry that feeling and explode it.

Swim Until You Can’t See Land
by Frightened Rabbit

Creative writing today.
RAINIEST MUH FUKKIN DAY
Ever. So much so I got out of work and my impenetrable sneakers became compromised. Got home, rolled up my pants, and ran through the street.
Bought Run Lola Run on blu-ray today! Almost done with 6 Feet Under
I fear for my future academic accomplishments (or lack thereof).
Peace
Today was generally awesome
OH! Submitted my radio application earlier... Very eerie, the beacon office. {shiver}
Wish me luck tomorrow! May the Friightened Rabbit be with you.

Backwards Walk
by Frightened Rabbit

The day started when I came home from the game (which, incidentally, Bernard was also at) with a broken table and this song stuck in my head. This led to a ridiculous discussion about how to manage the club from my "negociante" father, and to my watching the first episode of Chuck, season 3. It was about the seventh time, and it was awesome.
Fast forward through sleeping until 1, hanging out at Itito's, and getting some online errands run. Play.
Best Buy physical inventory today. Had fun doing the most tedious job known to humankind, because it was the company that made the night. This song is for the day, before PI and all that came with it, but getting home at 2:30 I can't help but genius playlisting it and making it work for the night, too.
Signing off.
